Finasteride Tablets & Regaine Extra Strength 5% Solution
30% of us are losing hair by the age of 30. It's part of being a man. But perhaps you're not quite ready for it yet.
Just One Tablet a Day.
Finasteride works in up to 90% of Men.

Minoxidil works in over 60% of men and is applied to the scalp once a day.
Best results occur when using minoxidil and finasteride together.
Key Information
Simply take one tablet a day. Best results are seen by 12 months, but significant improvements usually occur within 3-6 months. Starting earlier when you first start to notice hair loss usually yields the best results.

Finasteride works by preventing Testosterone converting into DHT. DHT is the hormone that causes hair to thin and fall out in men.

Side Effects
Like all medicines, both these medicines can come with potential side effects. For the most part they are well tolerated. Check the Patient Information Leaflets for full safety information and Side Effect profiles on the medicines. You should report side effects directly to the MHRA. We recommend you let us know too.

There is low chance that men may experience a reduced sex drive with finasteride (1.8% of men) or reduction in strength of erections (1.3% of men), or amount of ejaculate taking this medication. If the medication is stopped then these symptoms will resolve. There is a less than 1% chance of getting breast symptoms including swelling and soreness. You should stop the medication if this occurs.

More than 97% of men do not get any of these side effects.

It is important to use contraception when taking finasteride such as condoms, as it is excreted in semen, and could increase the risk of congenital defects of a baby conceived when taking finasteride. Women should not handle the tablets.
Minoxidil (Regaine)
Minoxidil is available as a lotion or foam that is applied to your scalp daily. It works by improving blood flow to the scalp and promoting hair growth. It Has been shown to work in over 60% of men.

It needs to be used for at least 3-4 months before significant effects are seen. New hair usually starts to fall out 2 months after treatment is stopped.

Minoxidil is very well tolerated as a solution or a foam. Most men will not get any side effects but some rarely get some skin irritation.

Side Effects
Using both treatments safely together which often leads to best results. The most effective hair growth with both treatments is expected at 12 months. We suggest a trial of 3-6 months to assess the response before ordering further medication.
